The Grand Canyon National Airport is gearing up for a significant runway rehabilitation project designed to improve safety and operational efficiency for all users. The airport’s current runway surfaces have deteriorated over time due to regular use and exposure to environmental conditions. This project will rehabilitate the runway’s infrastructure, extending its lifespan.

ADOT's Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory (May 16-19, 2025) - Phoenix Area
A stretch of eastbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) approaching I-17 will be closed this weekend (May 16-19) for improvement project work. And mostly overnight closures of I-10 in the downtown Phoenix
Beginning June 23, certified medical examiners on the National Registry will electronically submit results directly to FMCSA by midnight of the next calendar day. Drivers will no longer submit their MECs directly to MVD after June 22, 2025.

Drivers should plan ahead for a weekend closure of eastbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) between 59th Avenue and I-17 in the Northwest Valley (May 16-19). Learn more here.

Project Cost: $2,825,500 million 

The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin a highway safety improvement project this summer to install more than 2 miles of raised center median along State Route 95 in north Lake Havasu City.

ADOT is installing variable speed limit signs on I-40 between Bellemont and Flagstaff (mileposts 185–195) to help drivers adjust speed during bad weather, crashes, or construction. Construction is expected to begin in late spring 2025 and finish by summer 2026.
