The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for restrictions and delays on State Route 79 from the Fannin-McFarland Aqueduct at milepost 132 (north of Salazar Street) to Jason Lopez Circle at milepost 135 in Florence while crews perform a pavement improvement project. Crews will perform nightwork from 8 p.m. to  8 a.m. Sunday, July, 21 through Friday, July 26. The remainder of the work will be completed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through Aug 25. The heaviest delays are expected July 22 through July 27 while crews perform the milling and paving portion of the project. 

Drivers should prepare for:

• A reduced speed limit of 25 mph
• 12-ft width restriction
• Flagging operation to help drivers navigate the area

Schedule is subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances. Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

Reminder: Overnight closures of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road in north Scottsdale scheduled July 11-18

Long-term closure of northbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Raintree Drive begins July 20; additional Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard closures scheduled through July

The Arizona Department of Transportation reminds drivers to plan for the following closures and restrictions as part of the Loop 101 widening project in north Scottsdale for bridge work:

FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT BOULEVARD (JULY 11-18)

• Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be closed in both directions at Loop 101 during the following times:
  • 9 p.m., Friday, July 11, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 14
  • Overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 17
  • Eastbound Detour: Drivers may use the southbound Loop 101 frontage road to eastbound Raintree Drive to the northbound Loop 101 frontage road to access Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard east of the closure. 
  • Westbound Detour: Drivers may use the northbound Loop 101 frontage road to westbound Bell Road to the southbound Loop 101 frontage road to access Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard west of the closure.

PRINCESS DRIVE/PIMA ROAD (JULY 13-16)

• Princess Drive/Pima Road will be closed in both directions at Loop 101 nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, July 13, and ending the morning of Wednesday, July 16.
  • Westbound Detour: Drivers may consider using southbound Hayden Road to Princess Drive.
  • Eastbound Detour: Drivers can use the southbound Loop 101 frontage road to eastbound Bell Road to the northbound Loop 101 frontage road to access Pima Road.

UPCOMING CLOSURES:

• The southbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Princess Drive/Pima Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, July 17, to 5 a.m. Friday, July 18.
  • Detour: Drivers can use the southbound Loop 101 frontage road to the Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard on-ramp. 
• Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be closed in both directions at Loop 101 during the following times:
  • 9 p.m. Friday, July 18, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 21
  • Overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, and Thursday, July 24 
  • 9 p.m. Friday July, 25, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 28

NORTHBOUND RAINTREE DRIVE ON-RAMP:

• The northbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Raintree Drive will be closed beginning at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, July 20, for approximately 60 days, for ramp reconstruction.
  • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the northbound Loop 101 frontage road to the northbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.
