UPDATE: Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) nightly ramp closures planned at several locations
This alert updates postponed weather-related work 

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following closures as part of the Loop 202 widening project, between Loop 101 and Val Vista Drive:

The following closures have been postponed, due to weather. ADOT will issue a traffic alert with the rescheduled dates when available.

• The eastbound Loop 202 ramp work at Lindsay Road and Val Vista Drive originally planned for Sept. 19-20
• The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Price Road closure originally planned for Sept. 19-20

UPDATED: Nightly ramp closures Sept. 19-24

• The westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Gilbert Road and the off-ramp at Cooper Road will be closed nightly during the following times:
  • 10  p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 
  • 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, to 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21
  • 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24
  • Note: The two right lanes on westbound Loop 202 also will be closed between Gilbert and Cooper roads during these ramp closures.
• NEW: The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp closures at McQueen Road and the off-ramp at Cooper Road have been rescheduled to 10 p.m. Monday Sept. 22, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept 23.
   
• NEW: The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Dobson Road and the off-ramp at Alma School Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24.

UPDATED: Upcoming Closures (Sept. 26-29)

• North- and southbound Arizona Avenue at Loop 202 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27.

• UPDATED: Westbound Loop 202 will be closed from Arizona Avenue to the Loop 101 (Price Freeway) from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, for bridge work.
  • The westbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Gilbert, McQueen, and Cooper roads also will be closed.
  • DETOUR: Drivers may consider exiting ahead of the closure and using Pecos or Germann roads. 
     

Long-term closure of eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Alma School begins Sept. 22

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers of the following long-term ramp closure for reconstruction on the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) widening project:

• The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Alma School Road will be closed for approximately 60 days beginning 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22
  • Detour: Drivers may consider using the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Dobson Road or Arizona Avenue.

Upcoming Closures (Sept. 26-29)

• North- and southbound Arizona Avenue at Loop 202 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27.

• Westbound Loop 202 will be closed at the Arizona Avenue interchange from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, for bridge work.
  • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using Pecos or Germann roads to Alma School Road to access westbound Loop 202.

LONG-TERM RAMP CLOSURES (Approximately 60 days):

Westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Alma School Road will be closed for approximately 60 days starting 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 for ramp reconstruction.

• DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Dobson Road.

Westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Arizona Avenue will close at 11:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, for approximately 60 days starting for ramp reconstruction.

• DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Alma School or McQueen roads. 

Westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Price Road will close at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, July 31, for approximately 60 days starting for ramp reconstruction.

• DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Dobson Road.
