SR 347 Corridor Widening Intersections Map

Overview

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Gila River Indian Community and Maricopa Association of Governments, is proposing to construct improvements along SR 347, between Interstate 10 (I-10) and the northern limits of the city of Maricopa.

 

Project

The work will include upgrading the stormwater pump stations: replacing the existing pumps, gear drives, engines, and improving the electrical and control system. Upgrading and replacing the existing pump stations will allow the Deck Park Tunnel to continue operating efficiently, to remove water from the tunnel and the sub-grade roadway.

Thanksgiving can be a difficult time for seniors in affordable housing facilities, so the MVD Community Connections engagement team decided to share some holiday spirit. Employees at several MVD offices gathered Thanksgiving food and supplies for residents at two elder care facilities in Tucson. 

Thanksgiving has come and gone, but we at the Arizona Department of Transportation are always thankful for motorists who practice safe driving. That theme was woven into some of the traffic safety messages displayed on overhead signs this week.

Employees from two Phoenix-area MVD locations worked together to help those battling cancer know they are not alone in their fight.

Earlier this week, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality recognized ADOT for measurable improvements to the environment through the actions of volunteers participating in our Adopt a Highway volunteer program. This Copper Level award reflects the importance of the more than 6,000 Adopt a Highway volunteers who keep Arizona grand by removing litter along state highways.
