Drivers planning weekend travel in the Phoenix area will see southbound SR 51 closed between Northern and Highland avenues through early Monday. The ramp from eastbound Loop 303 to southbound I-17 will be closed on Saturday as part of a widening and interchange project.

Operation Full House, which this year will include more than 50 commercial vehicle enforcement inspectors, is conducted as part of the Arizona Commercial Vehicle Safety Partnership made up of ADOT's Enforcement and Compliance Division and AZDPS State Troopers.

Drivers should plan for northbound I-17 restrictions near Camp Verde and along southbound I-17 near Munds Park early in the week (March 23-25) for message sign installation. Learn more here.

A stretch of southbound SR 51 has fully reopened to traffic between Cactus Road and Northern Avenue following a weekend closure for the start of a pavement improvement project. This weekend's work removed surface pavement from this stretch in preparation for diamond grinding.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is targeting pavement improvements and expanding several key highways in the $9.85 billion Tentative Five-Year Transportation Facilities Construction Program for 2027-2031. The agency's recommended plan, which encompasses the projects that ADOT intends to design and construct over the next five years, is currently available for public comment until May 22.

The federal government funding bill signed into law recently includes $20 million that will allow the Arizona Department of Transportation to build a road connecting State Route 80 and a new Douglas commercial port of entry in its full four-lane configuration.
