The $19 million project milled the highway surface and replaced it with new pavement between mile markers 80-90, a stretch that begins about 20 miles west of SR 85. The project also added drainage, replaced guardrails, and repaired a bridge and box culverts. 

The northbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) will be closed between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, for a widening project.
