The Arizona Department of Transportation has kicked off a project to reconstruct and widen Interstate 10 between Kino Parkway and Country Club Road southeast of downtown Tucson.

The eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Dobson Road in Chandler will close for approximately 60 days starting late Monday night, June 30. Crews will reconstruct the ramp as part of the Loop 202 widening project in the Southeast Valley. Learn more here.

The Federal Railroad Administration has approved ADOT’s submissions in the first step of the Corridor Identification and Development Program: a scope, schedule and budget for preparing a Service Development Plan that will outline key elements necessary for establishing passenger rail service.

The State Transportation Board has approved the 2026-2030 Five-Year Transportation Facilities Construction Program, which emphasizes pavement and bridge improvements and expanding several key highways.

Closures or lane restrictions for freeway improvement projects in the Phoenix area will be limited this weekend (June 20-23). These include lane restrictions and freeway-to-freeway ramp closures for the Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) widening project in North Phoenix.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin construction Monday, June 23, on a new bridge over Interstate 40 at Houck, about 8 miles west of the New Mexico line.

A project to resurface I-17 and make other freeway improvements in the Anthem area, north of Carefree Highway, is scheduled to start Sunday night, June 22. The project's primary work will take place during overnight hours. Learn more here.

The Grand Canyon National Park Airport is hosting a virtual public meeting Thursday, May 29, to discuss a runway rehabilitation project that will result in the runway closing for about 28 days starting in July.

PHOENIX – Drivers traveling on Interstate 17 north of the Phoenix area now have an extra lane in each direction along a 15-mile stretch between Anthem Way and Black Canyon City just in time for the Memorial Day travel weekend.
