Overview
The Arizona Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) repaired the pavement on Interstate 10 between Scaddan Wash (milepost 24) and Plomosa (milepost 30), east of the town of Quartzsite. The work consisted of removing the existing pavement surface and replacing it with new asphalt concrete and minor bridge rehabilitation.
Project Elements
- Milled the existing pavement and replaced it with new pavement, which includes mainline travel lanes, shoulders, ramps, and crossroads
- Replaced guardrail
- Replaced cattle guards
- Repaired a bridge deck and replacing a bridge barrier
- Installed pipe liners and fencing
- Replaced pavement markings, signage and lighting
Project Schedule
The project began May 2024 and was completed February 2025.
