ADOT’s Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory (Aug. 7-10)

Plan for closures, lane restrictions as part of improvement projects

Closures are scheduled for improvement projects along several stretches of Phoenix-area freeways this weekend (Aug. 7-10). Closures include eastbound I-10 near the Loop 101 in the West Valley and westbound Loop 101 west of I-17 in the Northwest Valley. Learn more here.

I-10/Palo Verde interchange in Tucson to permanently close Aug. 14

Closure needed as part of project to reconstruct, widen I-10 from Kino to Alvernon Way

The Arizona Department of Transportation will permanently close the Interstate 10 interchange at Palo Verde Road the night of Friday, Aug. 14, as part of an ongoing project to reconstruct and widen I-10 from Kino Parkway to Alvernon Way.
Specialty License Plates Surpass 1 Million

ADOT MVD specialty license plates surpass 1 million in FY26

Charitable contributions approach $16 million

For the first time, the number of active specialty plates in Arizona have surpassed the one million mark in a single year. Also, a record $15.8 million was collected and will be distributed among the 104 charitable options available.

Arizona traveler information - AZ 511

AZ 511 is part of 511, the nationally-designated, three-digit telephone number for traveler information. Information on highway closures and restrictions is available by calling 511, visiting az511.gov or downloading the AZ 511 mobile app. The website and app include routing, travel times, roadwork and views from ADOT's statewide network of highway cameras. AZ 511 is maintained and operated by the Arizona Department of Transportation in cooperation with regional, state and local partners.
